The Iran Deal

Iran recently declared that it intends to violate a binding UN Security Council resolution, thus opening a possible avenue for Congress to kill the nuclear deal.

The permanent members of the Security Council (+ Germany and the EU as signatories of the Iran Deal) seemed to have ganged up to eviscerate the most important action tool of the UN (some binding Security Council Resolutions) and ignore even its foundational document (the Charter).


Beyond all its flaws, the JCPOA deal with Iran casts a serious doubt – by commission and omission – on whatever credibility the United Nations still has as an international institution designed to preserve world peace and fair relations between its member states.
